Title 1

Title 1 is a federal program that provides funding to schools with high numbers of children from low-income families.  It allows teachers to provide interventions to students that need extra support with reading, math, and writing. Title 1 provides Eastside with funding for three Title 1 teachers and three Title 1 paraprofessionals.

The goal of Title 1 Teachers is to provide an inclusive learning environment that is fun for the kids as they grow, to have cooperation, involvement, and communication with parents in order to have the most positive impact on students, and gather feedback from parents in order to know what works and doesn't work with their students.

Title 1 hosts two events every year, Reading Night in the fall and Math Night in the spring. These events are to encourage parent engagement with their students. Children are more likely to succeed if parents are involved. These evening events offer learning for parents and students and a chance to have fun!
