The Noetic Math Contest is a semiannual problem-solving contest for elementary students in our district. Problem-solving helps students to become better mathematicians, better thinkers, and more equipped for advanced STEM learning and research. During the contest students are given 45 minutes to solve 20 math problems. This year, 2nd and 3rd grade students competed at the advanced third grade level. Fourth and fifth graders competed at the advanced fifth grade level. Students receive awards for: * National Honor Roll - students who score in the top 10% in the nation- * Team Winner - the top scorer of the district's team. * National Honorable Mention - students who perform in the top 50% in the nation. From Eastside PTK: Wow, Eastside! What an amazing Walk-a-Thon this year! With your help and the support of our wonderful community, we raised $32,904.44 -- a new school record! We know how hard all of you worked to make this possible, and we are thrilled to direct these funds right back to our students and school. Please give yourselves a very enthusiastic pat on the back for all your effort and dedication. We appreciate you all to the moon and back! We have some specific acknowledgments we'd like to make as well: Thank you, Eastside teachers and staff, for all your help in coordinating logistics, encouraging the students, and participating in the event alongside the kids. You are amazing! Thank you, Mr. Gallagher, for being a wonderful school leader and for being willing to accept the challenge of sleeping on the school roof if the students raised over $10,000. Well, they beat that goal twice over by raising $21,604.44! We'll be excited to greet you in your PJs this week. You're awesome! Thank you, Eastside students and families, for showing up once again and demonstrating how much you love our school. There's nothing we can't accomplish when we work together. Thank you to all the fabulous business sponsors on our list, t-shirts, and banner. It is because of your incredible generosity that we raised $11,300 from business sponsorships alone! Thank you, Cody Police Department, Cody Firefighters, CHS Band, Cody Enterprise, Amos Olson, and Big Horn Radio Network, for supporting the students at the event. Your presence, photos, energy, etc. took our event to the next level and really hyped up the kids. Thank you, Jessica Ondler and Dani Blankenship, for taking on coordinating the event once again. It was a smashing success, and we are grateful for all your hard work. For anyone we've missed, please forgive us and know that we see you and thank you. It takes a village. Tomorrow we will be honoring Mrs. Barrus at a special assembly at 12:30. The public is invited to attend and can go directly to the north playground. We ask that students and staff wear Tie-Die in remembrance of her. We hope to see you there!

The next Principal Parent Focus Group meeting has been rescheduled for Friday May 12th.

WY-TOPP officially starts tomorrow for Eastside! Our 3rd grade will be taking the writing section of the assessment. We encourage everyone to wear pink on Wednesday to support our 3rd graders as they tackle this part of the test. Learn Together, SOAR Together, the Key is Me

We're gearing up for the next several weeks of state testing with WY-TOPP! Please join us for the Breakfast of Champions on Monday, April 10, from 7:30 to 8:00 in the ES gym. As part of our kick-off activities, each grade will be wearing a different color to school that day. See below for which color your grade will wear. Red =5th Purple= 4th Pink=3rd Yellow= 2nd Orange= 1st Green= Kindergarten

Park 6 Families, This morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. Cody High School administration received a message from the school resource officer indicating that there was a social media post circulating that could be directed at Cody High School, the author of the post mentioned CHS. This information prompted the district’s crisis management team to put Cody High School into a shelter-in-place and the district notified families of the situation. Cody PD responded to CHS and swept the building, following this sweep they verified there was no threat to students. Additional Park County law enforcement officers began investigating the origins of the social media post. They determined the post originated in Clovis, New Mexico several years ago. The post mentions a threat to CHS. A student from a neighboring school district saw this post and thought it was targeted at Cody High School and sent it to a CHS student who then reported it to law enforcement. At approximately 8:10 Cody PD informed the District’s crisis team that this was not a credible threat and that the normal operation of Cody High School could resume. We thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as the district and Cody PD worked together to resolve this situation. We are extremely proud of how our scholars responded to this situation.
