Join us in wishing Sarah Magargal a happy birthday! Mrs. Magargal teaches Computer Science and STEM at Eastside. She is a creative tour de force, and we are so fortunate to have her at Eastside!
We enjoyed a great 3rd day and a great first week of school. Thank you for following directions and for being patient through our (3) arrival and dismissal processes:
1. Kiss and Go drop off/pick up
2. Park and Walk to the building
3. Bus Transportation
You will notice that the City of Cody repainted our crosswalk. Thank you, City of Cody! If you utilize our second dismissal process of parking and walking, please be sure to only cross any roads where our Crosswalk Guard is stationed. This is very important to maintain safety.
I also want to thank our exceptional faculty and staff at Eastside. Every single one of them has done a phenomenal job this week. Our Main Office Staff: Afton Grant and Jessica Whitehead deserve special mention, as do our custodians: Jeremy Brod and John Sizer. They all have juggled so many tasks simultaneously with grace and excellence.
As always, thank you for partnering with Eastside and Park 6. It is a pleasure to serve you and this community.
Sincerely,
Joseff J. B. Smith

Families,
We enjoyed an excellent first day at Eastside! I have attached several photos for you to enjoy. Please see attached. At 6:30am, a rainbow could be seen over the school, and two eagles flew overhead. What a great way to get started! It was also wonderful seeing so many families take pictures in front of the Eastside sign.
Our Parent/Teacher/Kids organization and our Social Committee spoiled our staff this morning with coffee and muffins. At lunchtime, 307 Real Estate dropped off subs from Subway for the staff. Thank you PTK, Social Committee, and 307 Real Estate!
Our day was full of great interactions. One of our 5th Grade classes enjoyed a visit from a service dog. One of my favorite interactions today was with a Kindergarten student who said that Eastside "found the best teachers for school." Our faculty and staff at Eastside are truly exceptional.
Just a few reminders ahead of tomorrow:
- Office and doors open at 7:45am
- The 17th & Bleistein parking lot is for parking and walking your child to the building. Please do not allow your child to exit the vehicle and run across the parking lot without escorting them to the building.
- 17th Street is for pulling to the curb, and allowing your child to exit the vehicle and walk to the school with a school monitor present.
- Breakfast is offered to those who may need it from 7:45 - 8:10am
- Classes begin at 8:10am
Thank you for a tremendous first day!
Sincerely,

Eastside is exceptionally blessed with faculty and staff who intentionally invest a lot of their own time decorating Eastside's halls with positive and powerful messages for students. It goes far beyond wanting Eastside to look nice. There's a heart here for students at Eastside. Our faculty and staff genuinely care about each student and each student's future and well-being. The Eastside Team is dedicated to making sure each student SOARS in learning and in life. Please take a look at the attached hallway signs and boards when you get a chance.
I'm so proud to be a part of the wonderful team at Eastside. We are so excited to welcome everyone back soon. Don't forget, Open House is next Monday night from 4:30-6:00pm.
We really do have such a wonderful faculty and staff at Eastside. Last week, ten of our outstanding faculty and staff volunteered (4) full days of their summer vacation to attend Boys Town Training. This evidence-based intervention program provides practical strategies to address behavior which creates more positive and calmer classrooms. It is also known to reduce challenging behavior, improve students’ physical and emotional safety, and increase student and teacher satisfaction all while motivating both students and educators to engage in positive interactions and prosocial behaviors.
There aren't very many people who would be willing to give up (4) days of vacation for volunteer training. Our faculty and staff are some of the most sacrificial professional educators I know, and we are so blessed to have them at Eastside!
This is a Friendly Reminder that tonight is the KRC Parent Orientation at Sunset! Come meet the camp teachers and visit the classrooms before we kick off!
PCSD 6 will once again offer lunch to students aged 18 and under this summer! For details on locations and times, please refer to the flyer.
